How Salamander’s Solutions Meet GE’s Challenges

As GE engineered its’ move to Boston from Connecticut, the new space brought challenges that were met by Salamander’s AV cabinet solutions.

Moving on a tight deadline, Joe DeVorak, AV/VTC/Telepresence Specialist at GE who saw Salamander Designs Low Profile Wall Mount Cabinet at InfoComm 2016, reached out to Salamander Designs’ Founder & President, Salvatore Carrabba.

Some of GE’s project realities included a tight time frame to move employees into their new offices and they had already selected very large and heavy touch screen displays which would require a robust mounting solution. Also, because of other space realties, walls had already been constructed and the GE team did not want to deal with the potential additional variable costs associated with hiring the trades for reconstruction and installation. In addition, the cabinets needed to match the existing furniture already purchased for the new space.

Because Salamander’s low-profile AV credenza attaches to the wall with two brackets and the integrated screen mount allows for the cabinet to bear the load weight, there is no need to reinforce the wall. But GE needed the cabinets in two weeks. Because Salamander is based in Connecticut, manufactures its products on site, we stepped up to the challenge.

“As we ramped up our Boston Interim Site build-out, we turned to Salamander Designs for quality solutions geared to our needs. They provided customized integrated quality AV innovative products, quick order to delivery time, efficiencies and seamless execution.” said Tom Kapitan, Senior IT Leader Digital Operations at GE.
Salamander delivered and the rest is history.
