Many view LG’s decision to close its oldest plasma manufacturing plant as representative of a continuing decline in the plasma TV market. LG is closing one plant, and announced it will not increase production in the other two plants. The Wall Street Journal reports that this means production will go from 430,000 panels to 360,000 panels. This saves the company money and helps LG take a step back from the price-competitive market niche.
