We’re Proud to Be Named a Finalist in the 2026 New Zealand OSPAs

Effective retail security isn't built on a single product. It's built on the right partner — one that understands your environment, listens to your teams, and keeps showing up when it matters.

We're proud to share that Leading Solutions has been named a finalist in the 2026 New Zealand OSPAs in the Outstanding Security Partnership category, following a nomination from The Warehouse Group.

For our small team, this recognition means a great deal. It reflects years of work alongside loss prevention, operations and store teams across one of New Zealand's largest retail networks. Work that doesn't always make the headlines but makes a real difference to product security outcomes every day.

Why Partnership Matters More Than Products in Retail Security

Retail theft prevention is never solved by a single product. The most effective loss prevention solutions succeed because they're the right fit for the environment, the product category, the risk profile and the people using them on the floor every day.

That's the philosophy behind how we work with retailers. Rather than offering a fixed catalogue and leaving implementation to store teams, we take the time to understand the actual challenge, then recommend and support solutions that work in practice, not just on paper.

The Warehouse Group's nomination recognised this approach specifically. Their loss prevention and operations teams highlighted our responsiveness to emerging theft trends, our willingness to trial solutions in live retail environments, and our focus on keeping product security simple and usable for frontline staff.

Practical Security at National Scale

Supporting a national retail network means working across many different store layouts, merchandise categories and operational realities. Consistency is critical — a product security programme that works in one store needs to work in all of them.

Our work with The Warehouse Group spans a broad range of retail security solutions, including:

Laptop, phone and tablet security

Each solution is selected based on the specific risk environment and operational needs of the team using it. Our role doesn't end at supply. We support deployment, gather feedback and refine the approach as conditions change. That ongoing involvement is what makes a genuine security partnership different from a transactional supplier relationship.

Sustainability in Security

Sustainability isn't a common talking point in the retail security industry, but it should be.

Security equipment deployed across a national retail network generates significant volume. When products fail, wear out or are returned, the default in many cases is disposal. We take a different approach.

The OSPAs nomination specifically acknowledged our focus on refurbishing returned stock and reviewing product design to reduce waste. For retailers managing security equipment at scale, durable and reusable solutions deliver better long-term value while reducing environmental impact. And that alignment with The Warehouse Group's sustainability values reinforced the strength of the partnership.

A Small New Zealand Business Supporting Large Retailers

Leading Solutions is a New Zealand-owned, female-led business. We've been working with some of New Zealand's largest retailers since 2006, and we're proud that the scale of our clients has never changed how we operate.

We're still a team that picks up the phone, visits stores, listens to the problems that don't fit neatly into a support ticket, and finds practical ways forward. Being named a finalist in the 2026 New Zealand OSPAs is a meaningful recognition of that commitment — and of the people on our team who make it possible.

Thank You

We'd like to thank The Warehouse Group, and in particular their loss prevention and operations teams, for nominating us for this award and for recognising the value of a collaborative, outcomes-focused security partnership.

We also want to acknowledge the store teams, frontline staff, suppliers and partners who contribute to making retail security programmes work at scale. Recognition like this belongs to everyone involved.

Retail theft prevention continues to evolve, and we remain committed to helping New Zealand retailers find practical, reliable and cost-appropriate loss prevention solutions that protect merchandise, support frontline teams and strengthen security outcomes across their networks.
