Professional 4K SDI Capture

The Magewell USB Capture SDI 4K Pro is a one-channel capture device for capturing professional SDI video up to 4Kp60. It supports 12G-SDI input and loop-through, with embedded audio capture and a USB 3.2 Type-C host interface.

Designed for use with compatible computers and capture software, the device supports Windows, Linux, macOS and Chrome OS. Its USB interface and supplied cables allow connection to compatible Type-C or Type-A host ports, with actual capture formats dependent on the host system and operating system.

• One-channel SDI capture.

• 12G-SDI input and loop-through signals up to 4096×2160 at 60fps, 10-bit YUV 4:2:2.

• Video input support for RGB and YUV 4:4:4 at 8-, 10- or 12-bit, YUV 4:2:2 at 12-bit, and YUV 4:2:0 at 8-, 10- or 12-bit.

• Capture video up to 4096×2160, with supported frame rates up to 240fps.

• Capture output video up to 10-bit colour depth.

• Supports SDI embedded audio with up to 8 channels, 24-bit and a 192kHz sample rate.

• 3.5mm line input supports a two-channel IEC60958 standard audio stream.

• 3.5mm line output provides audio from the SDI signal.

• USB 3.2 Type-C host interface with a data rate of up to 20Gbps.

• Video output formats include P010, Y210, NV12, I420, YUY2, UYVY, RGB24 and RGB32.

• Compatible with Windows, Linux, macOS and Chrome OS.

• Includes USB 3.2 Type-C to Type-C and Type-C to Type-A cables.

SDI Input and Audio

The USB Capture SDI 4K Pro accepts SDI signals up to 12G and provides a loop-through interface. It supports a range of RGB and YUV input formats, with SDI embedded audio capture for up to eight channels.

A 3.5mm line input supports two-channel IEC60958 audio, while the 3.5mm line output provides audio from the SDI signal.

Flexible Capture and Connectivity

The device captures video at resolutions up to 4096×2160, with supported frame rates up to 240fps. Available capture formats and frame rates depend on the host system’s USB interface and operating system.

The USB 3.2 Type-C interface supports up to 20Gbps and connects to a host using either of the supplied Type-C to Type-C or Type-C to Type-A cables.

Software and System Support

USB Capture SDI 4K Pro works with compatible capture and streaming applications, including OBS Studio, VLC, QuickTime Player, GStreamer and XSplit. It also supports common capture interfaces such as DirectShow, V4L2 and AVCaptureSession.

The included USB Capture Utility allows users to check and set capture parameters, upgrade device firmware and export information for troubleshooting.
