Desk Booking Pucks

Desk Booking Pucks & Smart Panels for Hybrid Workplaces

Leading Solutions supplies New Zealand businesses with desk booking pucks, occupancy sensors, and Smart Panel devices purpose-built for hot-desking and hybrid office environments. Status pucks provide clear visual indicators - green for available, red for occupied - that integrate with popular workplace booking platforms so employees can find and reserve a desk before they arrive or on the spot. Compact and PoE-powered, these devices install cleanly on desks or walls without complex cabling.

For organisations seeking a more versatile front-of-desk device, our Smart Panels combine desk booking with visitor check-in, digital signage, NFC/RFID access, and custom workflow apps - all in one Android 13/14 or Linux touch panel with Wi-Fi 6 and programmable LED status bars. Whether you need a simple puck for a single floor or a fully integrated Smart Panel estate across multiple sites, Leading Solutions can scope and supply the right solution for your NZ workplace.

Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions below

  • A desk booking puck is a compact status indicator device placed on or near an individual desk in a hot-desking or flexible workspace environment. It displays availability status - typically via colour LEDs (green = available, red = booked/occupied) - and syncs with workplace booking software so employees can see desk availability in real time and reserve a workspace from a booking app, web portal, or directly from the puck itself. Leading Solutions supplies puck and Smart Panel options suitable for NZ hybrid offices of all sizes.

  • Desk booking pucks and Smart Panels from Leading Solutions are compatible with leading workspace management platforms including Microsoft 365 (via Teams Rooms or third-party connectors), Robin, Condeco, Kadence, and other software solutions that support hardware integrations. The Smart Panel PCs run Android 13/14 or Linux, allowing custom app deployment for bespoke booking system integrations.

  • A desk booking puck is a dedicated, single-purpose status indicator - compact, low-cost, and straightforward to deploy at each desk for basic availability display. A Smart Panel is a full Android or Linux touchscreen device with NFC/RFID, Wi-Fi 6, PoE+, camera, and programmable LED bars that can handle desk booking alongside visitor management, access control, digital signage, and custom workflows. Smart Panels suit organisations that want a future-proof, multi-function device rather than a single-purpose indicator.

  • Yes, the Smart Panel devices in the Leading Solutions range support PoE and PoE+ (IEEE 802.3at/af), meaning a single ethernet cable provides both data connectivity and power - no separate power adapter or wall outlet is required at each desk. Standard PoE network switches or injectors are sufficient. This simplifies large-scale deployments across open-plan offices and significantly reduces installation costs.

  • Yes. Smart Panel PCs from Leading Solutions support both individual desk booking and meeting room or collaboration space booking from the same hardware platform. Programmable LED status bars provide at-a-glance availability outside meeting rooms, while the touchscreen interface allows on-the-spot booking or check-in. This makes Smart Panels a versatile choice for NZ businesses deploying a unified room and desk booking solution across a single site or multiple locations.
