Display Hooks

Locking Display Hooks for Retail Loss Prevention

Display hooks are essential fixtures for any NZ retail store, combining organised product presentation with effective theft deterrence. Our range includes standard and locking display hooks compatible with common slat wall and pegboard systems, making them ideal for hanging packaged goods, accessories, small electronics, and health & beauty products.

Unlike standard hooks, locking display hooks secure both the front of the merchandise and the hook itself to the fixture - preventing sweep theft and hook removal. Choose the style that fits your existing retail layout and product type.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a locking display hook and how does it differ from a standard hook?

A locking display hook is a retail fixture that secures merchandise at both ends - the front face of the hook prevents customer removal of products without authorisation, while a rear lock anchors the hook body to the slat wall or pegboard. Standard hooks only support product weight; locking hooks add active theft deterrence. This dual-protection design is particularly effective for high-theft items such as razors, gaming cards, and health & beauty accessories.

Which wall systems are locking display hooks compatible with?

Locking display hooks from Leading Solutions are designed to fit most standard NZ slat wall (slatwall) systems and many pegboard configurations. If you are unsure whether a specific hook model suits your existing fixtures, contact the Leading Solutions team at sales@leadingsolutions.co.nz for compatibility advice before ordering.

Why use a locking display hook instead of a locked cabinet?

Locked cabinets restrict customer access and can reduce impulse purchases by creating a barrier between shoppers and products. Locking display hooks keep merchandise fully visible and within reach while still preventing unauthorised removal. They occupy no additional floor space and integrate directly into existing slat wall displays, making them a cost-effective loss prevention upgrade for busy NZ retail environments.

Do display hooks work with EAS security systems?

Display hooks can be used alongside standard EAS security systems - products hung on the hooks can still be tagged with AM 58 kHz or RF 8.2 MHz hard tags that trigger EAS gates at store exits. Locking hooks provide a first layer of physical deterrence, while EAS tags provide electronic detection if a product is removed and carried towards the exit.

Are locking display hooks reusable and how long do they last?

Yes, locking display hooks are built for commercial reuse and are constructed from durable steel or reinforced materials suited to high-traffic retail environments. The locking mechanisms are designed to withstand repeated daily engagement and release by staff. Leading Solutions stocks replacement components where applicable, and bulk orders receive trade pricing.

Does Leading Solutions offer trade or bulk pricing on display hooks?

Yes, Leading Solutions offers wholesale and trade pricing for registered business partners, including retail chains, supermarkets, and loss prevention consultants across New Zealand. Orders typically dispatch within one business day from our Auckland warehouse. To access trade pricing, apply via the partner programme at leadingsolutions.co.nz/pages/become-a-partner.
